FAQs
Find answers to our most popular questions!
1. What ages is the play café designed for?
The Lounge is designed with children ages 0–6 in mind. Our play equipment, activities, and environment are being selected specifically for that age group.
That said, older siblings will not be automatically excluded from the play area. We understand many families, especially homeschooling families, have children of multiple ages. As long as older children are playing appropriately and safely around the younger kiddos, they're welcome to join in.
We're also exploring ways to create an attached space for older children who may prefer a quieter area for reading, schoolwork, games, or independent activities!
2. I have several kids. Is this only for families with toddlers?
Absolutely not!
As a homeschooling family ourselves, we know firsthand that you can't always leave the older kids at home. We want The Lounge to be a place where the entire family feels welcome, not just the youngest child.
3. Do you offer any food/beverages? What about bringing in our own?
Yes! We'll offer a selection of light, pre-packaged snacks and beverages for both kids and adults. You are also welcome to bring in your own!
Because the safety of all children is important to us, foods containing peanuts or tree nuts will not be permitted inside our facility, and we will not sell them. We appreciate everyone's cooperation with this!
4. Can we eat while the kids play?
Yes! Our seating will be located along the outer edges of the play space so parents can relax, chat, enjoy a snack or beverage, and still keep an eye on their kiddos.
Snacks and drinks will be allowed throughout the facility.... if something spills, we'll clean it.... that's kind of the point. 😉
5. Do I need to reserve my play session?
Nope, just come on in when it's convenient for you!
We utilize a family number system. Just stop in, check in at the front desk, and enjoy your visit. When your play time is nearing its end, we'll give you a 15-minute warning so you have time to wrap things up, gather your tiny humans, and skidaddle.
Our goal is to make visits feel flexible and low-stress. We try to keep our Facebook page updated as much as possible regarding capacity on any given day!
6. How do you keep everything clean?
Cleanliness is one of our biggest priorities!
We use Briotech Hypochlorous Acid (HOCl) products throughout the facility. Hypochlorous acid is a powerful sanitizer that is highly effective against bacteria, viruses, fungi, and other germs, while being gentle enough to be used around children. In fact, it's based on a substance your own immune system naturally produces to fight pathogens!
Throughout the play space, you'll find our "Rub-a-Dub Tubs" hanging on the walls. If a toy makes its way into a little one's mouth (because it's obviously going to happen), simply drop it into the nearest tub.
Our team will routinely collect, sanitize, and return toys to the play floor throughout the day. At the end of each day, the entire play area receives sanitizing treatment using foggers and Briotech's hypochlorous acid formula to ensure everything is fresh and ready for the next day's adventures!
Our goal is to provide a space that is not only fun, but exceptionally clean, without exposing children to unnecessarily harsh chemicals.
7. Is this a shoe-free play space?
YES! All children AND adults must remove their shoes before entering the play floor. Socks are required and will be available for purchase if you forget your own.
8. Can anyone just come in and hang out?
No. For the comfort and safety of our families, all adults entering the play area must be accompanying a child or meeting a family already inside.
In other words, The Lounge is not a place where someone can simply walk in, grab a seat, and watch other people's children play. We want parents and caregivers to feel comfortable knowing that everyone in the space has a legitimate reason to be there.
